KANDACE SPRINGS LIVESTREAM EVENT (Late Show)
After nearly three years, Kandace Springs returns with Run Your Race (2024), a deeply personal tribute to her late father, legendary Nashville soul singer Scat Springs. The album marks her first collection to feature almost all original songs, written by Kandace both solo and with top collaborators including Gregg Wells (Adele), Matt Hales (Lianne La Havas), and longtime partners Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken (Rihanna). Backed by her all-female rhythm section and joined by guest artists Elena Pinderhughes (Herbie Hancock) and Karriem Riggins (Diana Krall), Kandace delivers her most heartfelt work to date. From “Look,” co-written with her father, to the title track “Run Your Race,” the album honors his life, legacy, and love of music. Classic standards like “Wild Is the Wind” and “What a Wonderful World” also pay tribute to the songs he shared with her. Her previous album, The Women Who Raised Me, earned international acclaim and a Deutscher JazzPreis for Best Vocal Album.
